Dutch Nature Data Authority
Nature information* is essential for a balanced land management and to inform policy making and nature management. The Dutch Nature Data Authority, facilitates trustworthy nature information and makes this available to everyone. It stimulates, connecting and guiding, the cooperation between data collectors, administrators and users. It operates independently and approaches all stakeholders in a neutral way.
Its main activities are:- Directing the data collection proces.
- Surveilling the trust and quality of nature information by establishing protocols together with the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS)
- Setting up and managing the NDFF with the Universiy of Amsterdam and the st. Fieldwork Flora and Fauna(VOFF)
The Dutch data authority on Nature has been appointed in 2007 by the ministry of Agriculture(LNV), it has its chair in Utrecht.
