The National Databank Flora en Fauna (NDFF) is a system that stores the nature data of the Netherlands.
NDFF means 'National Databank Flora and Fauna'. It forms a system that stores data on nature of the Netherlands. The NDFF consists of a collection of different databases managed by various organizations. All databases share the same data model the EcoGRID data model. The core of this data model is implemented in each of the connected databases. Each organization can locally extend its model beyond this core.
The NDFF is a growing database, currently it stores a substantial part of the VOFF-data. Presently several organizations like Staatsbosbeheer, ProRail, de Landschappen, Natuurmonumenten, CBS and local authorities are working on storing their data as well.
A governing body will come in place to assume responsibility for the maintenance and governance of the NDFF.
